Shasta County Sheriff's Office investigating officer-involved shooting

The Shasta County Sheriff's Offices is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Redding. Investigators say a male suspect was shot and killed at around midnight Monday morning outside of Bob's Liquor on Hartnell Avenue and Rockabye Lane. 

Camp Fire survivor missing out of Willows

The search is on for a Camp Fire survivor who is missing out of Willows. The Glenn County Sheriff's Office says Robert Patrick Burman has been missing from Willows for a week. Relatives say he lived in Paradise before the Camp Fire and now lives in Willows. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (530) 934-6431. 

More than 12 arrested in Redding on drug charges

Over one dozen people in Redding were arrested on drug charges. Police say it all started Sunday morning with wanted felon Zackary Miller. Police say Miller sideswiped a car with his own vehicle and called the victim racial slurs. Police then arrested 14 people at Miller's home that night. Several bags of meth were found inside and hidden on the roof.

Sheriff's office asks people to stop stealing "Road Closed" signs

The Glenn County Sheriff's Office is asking people to stop stealing road signs. A number of signs, barricades and signal lights have gone missing from flooded roads. Once signs are removed it's dangerous for other drivers, but it also costs taxpayers. 

Investigation continues into Ethiopia plan crash

Eight Americans are among the 157 people killed in a plane crash in Ethiopia. The plane, en route to Nairobi, lost contact with the control tower just minutes after take-off on Sunday. The investigation into what caused the crash is underway. Action News Now is working to learn the identity of the americans

President Trump to release 2020 budget plans

President Trump releases his 2020 budget on Monday. It's expected to include an increase in defense spending and five percent cuts across the board in domestic expenditures. Democrats are already resisting the President's effort to include border wall funding.

July began on a seasonably hot note for northern California with plenty of sunshine, and fortunately very little wind. We'll have a minor cooling trend through Friday before more heat arrives for the holiday weekend.
