Tension escalates between U.S. and Iran

Tensions continue to escalate between the U.S. and Iran after President Trump approved new financial sanctions against the country. The president of Iran is responding Tuesday morning, denouncing both the White House and its policies. 

Children removed from Texas border patrol station

Most of the children at a border patrol station in Texas have been removed by the government after reports of inadequate food, water and sanitation. Stay with Action News Now for the latest on how the government is responding. 

1 killed in crash on Highway 32, Yosemite Drive

Police are investigating a deadly crash on Highway 32 in Chico on Monday. The crash happened Monday afternoon near Yosemite Drive. Investigators have not released the name of the victim or details on the crash itself. Stay tuned for updates. 

North State police offering reward for information on Redding cold case

North State police are offering up $10,000 in hopes of spurring information on a 1995 cold case. It involves the murder of Christine Munro on June 24, 1995. Redding police found her body along the Sacramento River Trail. Anyone with information is asked to contact Redding police or Shasta County Secret Witness.

Authorities searching for missing Utah student

The search continues for a missing University of Utah student. Police say Mackenzie Lueck was last seen when a Lyft driver, dropped her off from the airport around 3 a.m. Monday morning at Hatch Park in North Salt Lake. 

Shasta County couple indicted on forced labor charges

Tuesday, a Shasta Lake couple will be back in court after pleading not guilty to charges of holding a Guatemalan family for forced work. FBI agents say Nery and Maura Martinez paid for a Guatemalan family to come to the U.S. Then when the family's visas expired, investigators say the Martinez's convinced the family they would hurt them if did not work long hours for little to no pay. 

Paradise Town Council to discuss multiple topics at Tuesday's meeting

The Paradise Town Council is holding a special meeting Tuesday to apply for another round of disaster assistance. The meeting starts at s6 p.m. at the Paradise Alliance Church Sanctuary on Clark Road.
