White House prepares new economic sanctions in the Middle East

The White House is preparing a new round of economic sanctions against Tehran, which could be imposed as soon as Monday. Two of the president's top aides arrived in the Middle East Monday morning to gather allied support against Iran. 

President Trump postpones illegal migrant crackdown operation

The government's threats to crack down on migrants who are in the U.S. illegally came and went Sunday without any sign of the promised nationwide raids. President Trump said he agreed to postpone the operation, at the request of house speaker Nancy Pelosi. However, the president warned that Congress has two weeks to come up with a political solution to border control.

11 dead after plane crashes on Oahu

Eleven skydivers died in a plane crash in Hawaii on Friday. The plane crashed shortly after take-off on the north shore of Oahu Friday.It's being considered the deadliest U.S. aviation accident since 2011. The National Transportation Safety Board later determined pilot error played a role in the crash. 

The Great Race stops in Butte County Monday

Car enthusiasts in Butte County will get a special treat on Monday. The Great Race, the world's premiere old car rally, will make a brief stop in Oroville Monday. Then, drivers will come to Chico and spend the night. Organizers for the 2019 Hemmings Motor News Great Race say 120 of the world's finest antique cars will come through the county. The Downtown Chico Business Association led the effort to host Monday's event in downtown Chico. 

CHP searching for suspect, vehicle in hit-and-run on Chico skateboarder

A skateboarder was the victim of a hit-and-run Sunday morning in Chico and now the California Highway Patrol is asking the public for help identifying the driver and a vehicle involved. The hit-and-run was reported at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of W. Sacramento Avenue and Bidwell Avenue. The CHP believes there is severe windshield damage on the gray/silver sedan, which is the suspected vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call CHP at 530-332-2800.

CHP releases names of those injured in deadly crash on Highway 99, Neal Road

Two people are dead and several were injured after a four-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 99 and Neal Road. The crash involved a dump truck, a Chevy sedan, a Toyota Sienna, and an 18-wheeler.
