Chico police are searching for two suspects in an attempted robbery they say was initiated by a social media dating app. Officers say this happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 500 block of Pomona Avenue, Chico. Anyone with information is asked to call the Chico Police Department at 530-897-4900.
California lawmakers to vote on bill to support wildfire survivors
Wildfire survivors came together in Sacramento Monday to support AB1054. If passed, the bill would provide more legal protection for fire victims, create more safety regulations for utilities, and protect ratepayers and utility companies from bearing too much of the financial burden.
While Southern California is still rattled by thousands of aftershocks, many in the North State are wondering if they could see a similar event. Action News Now spoke to a state-certified geologist who said most of the major fault lines are outside of the area. This means the chances the North State sees a huge quake are low.
Drivers can expect up to 30-minute delays on Highway 299, west of Redding. Right now, 24-hour traffic control is in place for the Dri Whiskey Project. The project is taking place between Old Shasta and French Gulch. Traffic control will be in place through the end of July.
President continues efforts to add citizen question to 2020 census
The president is continuing efforts to put a question about citizenship on the 2020 census. The attorney general has said that an executive order is one possibility under consideration. President Trump has said that a memorandum is another. This is despite a recent supreme court ruling against having the question on the upcoming census.
