CAL FIRE knocks down overnight mobile home park fire

CAL FIRE is investigating the cause of an early morning fire that broke out behind a mobile home park. It happened at the Forest Ranch mobile home park. Action News Now spoke to a CAL FIRE representative on the scene who says the call came in about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday morning. Crews arrived in under ten minutes and put the fire out within 30 minutes.

FOUND: Missing dirt biker located in Berry Creek area

A successful search effort and recovery, after a dirt-biker, became lost in Berry Creek. The Butte County Sheriff's Office found 18-year old Rylan Fuentes around 10 a.m. Monday morning. Over 80 people took part in the search, when Fuentes disappeared Sunday night, after getting separated from a group of eight other dirt bikers he was with. Search and rescue said Fuentes made smart decisions to help in his own rescue.

Police: Violent sex offender returns to streets of Redding

A man with a record of being a sexual predator is calling Shasta County his home. And many people in the Redding area are now on alert. Daniel Selovich was once charged with sexual assault, battery, and first-degree kidnapping. In 2004, Redding prosecutors charged him with raping a woman, but he accepted a plea deal, and prosecutors dropped those charges. Still, Selovich spent 4 years in prison.

Chico City Council to consider alternative district maps

After many weeks of discussion and debate, the Chico City Council is set to choose a proposed map for city voting districts. The city council is going to see ten maps drawn up by a demographer as well as a few submitted by the public. The council will be able to make changes to any of the maps at the meeting.

Gridley FEMA trailer transition

Camp Fire survivors are continuing to transition out of FEMA trailers, 14 months after losing their homes. Everyone in a FEMA trailer will have to move out by May 12th of this year. But Butte County Deputy Chief Administrator, Casey Hatcher says the county has already requested a one-year extension of that deadline. That request is still pending federal approval.

Car vs. house collision near Sacramento

More details this morning on that deadly car vs. House crash that left an elderly woman dead. Sacramento County deputies say they have a man in custody. He is suspected of driving under the influence and could be facing charges of vehicular manslaughter. Investigators say his car plowed right into the living room of Rancho Cordova home, Sunday killing a woman and injuring two others.

A 3-year-old boy was attacked by a mountain lion in a California wilderness park

Some tense moments after a mountain lion attacked a southern California family. The family of six was walking just before 4:30 p.m. when the mountain lion grabbed a 3-year-old child by the neck. The boy's father threw a backpack at the animal, which dropped the child, then climbed up a tree. The animal was euthanized and that child is recovering at a local hospital. 

Impeachment guide: Voting on the trial rules

After months of inquiries and debates, today is the day. In just a few hours the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump is set to kick off. In a 200 page filing, the president's legal team asks the Senate to speedily reject what they call a brazenly political attempt to remove President Trump from office. Arguments by both sides begin on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
