CAL FIRE knocks out Palermo house fire
CAL FIRE crews were called out to a mobile home fire in Palermo, in the pleasant grove mobile home park at around midnight. CAL FIRE said crews made an aggressive attack and were able to knock out the fire within 30 minutes. There were no injuries, however, the mobile home suffered major damage.
Future of settlement uncertain after Governor Newsom rejects PG&E plan
Today is the last day for PG&E to propose a settlement to get out of bankruptcy. It has to be a plan that Governor Gavin Newsom approves of. The deadline for victims to file a claim is Dec. 31. PG&E’s stock dropped 14% on Monday, as investors reacted to the governor's rejection of the restructuring plan.
Several parents in Red Bluff worried after school incident
Many Red Bluff parents are worried after a report that a student was approached by a man wearing a ski mask and driving a white van, near Jackson Heights Elementary in Red Bluff. Parents said the school did not notify them about the reported incident. The Red Bluff Police Department could not confirm that an attempted kidnapping took place. They said they will continue to look at surveillance videos and talk to the witnesses.
Oroville Police release photo of suspect from bank robbery
Police this morning are still on the hunt for a man wanted for a mid-day robbery at a Tri Counties Bank and need the public's help. Paradise Police arrest man for burglary at storage unit
Another man is behind bars for trying to pull off a "switch and bait" that backfired. Investigators said Loren Maisler reported his car as stolen. Paradise police found the car disabled and it was full of items reported stolen during a break in at Colonial Mini Storage on the Skyway. Police said that attempt to falsely report the car as stolen, prompted an additional charge, of perjury.
Shasta County deputies arrest robbery suspect
Two suspects will be in court today facing charges of attacking a man with an axe. It happened Friday night in Yuba City.
Sutter County Sheriff's Deputies said 21-year old Devin Brown and 18-year old Kenneth Dunkle pulled a man who was sleeping in his car out and attacked him. That victim is in the hospital but is expected to survive.
Redding unveils new DMV kiosk in FoodMaxx
If you are dreading your next trip to the DMV there is a new service you might want to know about. The DMV is unveiling a new kiosk in the Redding FoodMaxx on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The kiosk is part of an expansion by the DMV based on research by the governor's office. Customers can use the kiosk for small tasks like paying for vehicle registration and getting license plate stickers.
