Happening on Tuesday, Chico Mayor Randall Stone will hold a meeting to discuss the need for permanent warming shelters for the homeless. Stone told Action News Now that he's looking for other non-profit groups to expand capacity so people won't die on the streets from exposure.
Final public hearing on voting district rights is Tuesday
Chico will also hold a final public hearing on Tuesday to determine its position on changing voting district rights. The new city demographer will put together some options to represent specific areas where certain demographics live in high concentrations. A former CHP officer from Redding has been indicted and is behind bars this week, facing charges of child pornography. The arrest came after a months-long investigation into Timothy Horwath. Investigators with the CHP's Computer Crimes Investigation said Horwath received child porn both off and on duty.
A Marysville man is facing charges of attempted murder, police in Marysville said Adam Mobley shot at least five rounds into an inhabited home on C street from his car. Police said they arrested Mobley and multiple guns that were found in his car. Mobley also faces charges of driving under the influence.

Action News Now had a successful first day of the 'Tis the Season Food Drive on Monday. There was a steady stream of people driving up to drop off food in Red Bluff. For Tuesday, we will be in the parking lot of Raley's in Chico from 3 to 7 p.m. We team up with Tri Counties Bank every year to help collect food for those in need, and the need this year is greater than ever.
