Easter bombing attacks on churches and hotels in Sri Lanka killed 290 people and left around 500 injured. Police said 24 suspects are now in custody. The state department said several Americans are among the dead.
On Monday, officials are planning a controlled burn in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The burn will be in the area of Blue Rock Road just four miles north of Weaverville. The forest service said people may see smoke for the next three days in Weaverville, China Gulch Road, Little Browns Creek and Browns Mountain.
Redding fire officials investigating auto yard fire
The Redding Fire Department is investigating what caused a fire at an auto yard. Investigators said around 15 cars were damaged Sunday morning at LKQ Auto Salvage on Viking Way in east Redding. No one was injured and no buildings were damaged.
Officials are warning about water danger after a swift water rescue over the weekend. Trinity County Search and Rescue saved two rafters who got stranded near the Douglas City Bridge. The river flows in the Sacramento, Trinity and Feather rivers have been fluctuating as dam operators need to release water.
Gas prices on the rise in the North State
The Lundberg Survey said the average price for a gallon of gas went up over 12 cents per gallon in the past two weeks. Right now, the average price of gas in Butte County is $3.92 a gallon. In Shasta County, the average price is $4. In Tehama County, the average price is $3.93.
A third case of measles has been confirmed in Shasta County. One of the potential exposure locations is Movies 14 between 7 - 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16.

Mount Shasta Ski Park closed for the season
It's the end of the Mount Shasta Ski Season. The ski park put out a notice Sunday that Easter was the last day of the season.
