Truck Fire on Highway 99 and East Gridley Road
Traffic control was in place for the area of Highway 99 and East Gridley Road Tuesday morning. Cal Fire says a semi-truck full of wood chips caught fire at around 4 a.m. They say because of the wood they had to put out the flames for three to four hours. There were no injuries.

Tehama County Town Dangerously Low on Water
Residents in the town of Paskenta are conserving water as the water district works to bring in water. The creek that fuels the town’s water supply has run dry as well as the funding to truck in more water. The district is working to get more funding from the State Water Resource Board to truck in water.

Two Homes Destroyed by Flames in Quincy
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office says two neighboring homes were destroyed overnight in Quincy. A fire at a home on First Street spread to destroy the home next door and damage several other homes nearby. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Man Allegedly Threatens to Kill Family in Lakehead
The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Richard Cristiani of Lakehead is behind bars for chasing his 72-year-old mother and his sister with a butcher knife. Deputies had to use a K-9 to arrest him Monday evening. Cristiani now faces charges of terrorist threats and elder abuse.

Chico Street Crimes Unit a Permanent Fixture?
On Tuesday evening the Chico City Council will consider making the Chico Police Department’s summer “Street Crimes Unit” permanent. The unit is currently patrolling the Chico State south campus area. City Council will also review the city’s “sit-lie” ordinance.
