Congressional District 1 Campaign Forum
Monday evening, Congressman Doug LaMalfa and challenger Audrey Denney will hold a forum in Plumas County. It starts at 7 p.m. at Graeagle Fire Hall at 7620 Highway 89 in Plumas County. This will be the last forum with the two in the North State before the November election.


September 17 Delta Fire Latest
The Delta Fire is now 76 percent contained at more than 60,000 acres. The U.S. Forest Service says the fire should no longer pose a risk to travelers along Interstate 5. Firefighters expect full containment by next Saturday.


Chico Police and Chico State Police Community Meeting
On Monday, Chico police are holding a community meeting with Chico State University Police to discuss how the two departments work together. That will happen in the BMU Hall on campus at 4 p.m.


New Paradise Police Chief
Paradise police have appointed Lieutenant Eric Reinbold as their new police chief. He has been serving as acting chief during the last several months following the last chief’s retirement in February. Reinbold begins his duties Monday.
