Delta Fire Update

The Delta Fire is now 53,311 acres and is 5 percent contained. There are currently 2,380 personnel on scene at the blaze. 

Chico State Police Investigating Campus Dorm Rape

The Chico State Police Department is investigating a reported rape at a university dorm. Campus Police sent an email to students Monday night letting them know about the alleged assault. Police say the assault happened this past Friday, Sept. 7, at around 2 a.m. at Konkow Hall on West Sacramento Avenue. There is no word yet on whether an arrest has been made. 

United Airlines to Provide Non-Stop Flight from Redding to Los Angeles

Starting next March anyone will be able to catch a direct flight from Redding to Los Angeles. Airport Manager Bryant Garrett says if you add up the cost and time of driving to Sacramento, parking, then walking to your terminal, flying out of Redding makes economic sense. They plan to offer one direct flight per day. 

Governor Jerry Brown Signs Clean Energy Bill

Governor Jerry Brown signed an executive order that sets a goal of generating all of California's electricity from clean sources by 2045. The governor said he hopes California can be a model for the rest of the country. Brown also plans to host a summit on climate change later this week.
