Delta Fire Update

A spot fire started just outside of the southern containment lines of the fire. The U.S. Forest officials say that it's 10 acres near Dog Creek Road. No structures are threatened. 

Los Angeles Police Arrest Suspect in Homeless Attacks

LoAngeleses police have arrested 47-year-old Ramon Escobar in connection to a series of deadly attacks on sleeping homeless men in Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Police say he killed three men and injured four others with a baseball bat. Investigators believe the motive was robbery. Escobar is also a person of interest in the disappearance of his aunt and uncle in Texas. 

Santec Collects Acorns at Anderson Park 

Employees with the engineering company Santec will be collecting acorns today at Anderson River Park. It's an effort to replant nearly 3,000 new trees in areas burned by the Carr Fire. 

PG&E Cuts Trees to Reduce Wildfire Risk

PG&E is cutting trees in magaMagalia prevent wildfires. Crews will be increasing the distance of brush from powerlines from four feet to 12 feet. When that's done, they'll work on Paradise and the foot hills of Butte County. To find out if your area may be affected by wildfire danger, CLICK HERE

Mosquito Control Spray in Butte County 

Mosquito control will be spraying four areas in southern Butte County today, including Pacific Heights and Oroville. This is following a reported death from West Nile Virus. 

Paradise State of the Town 

The Paradise Town Council will be hosting a State of the Town meeting today. They'll cover the budget, upcoming projects, and measures on the November ballot. The events take place at Paradise Town Hall at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Speedway Gas Station Credit Card Fraud Reports

The Speedway Gas Station in Anderson has confirmed several customers are reporting instances of credit card fraud. Employees say Anderson police checked the gas pumps for credit card skimming equipment, but none was found. If you think you are a victim, you are asked to call your bank and then Anderson police.
