1. Teens Play with Fireworks in Magalia
Cal Fire says two teenagers playing with fireworks started a brush fire in Magalia. It happened Saturday night near Desalba Lake. Cal Fire was able to get the fire under control. The teenagers, ages 16 and 17, are now being investigated by the Butte County District Attorney. Cal Fire says the boys could face felony charges.
2. Zero Tolerance Policy for Fireworks in Shasta Co.
Cal Fire crews say they will be keeping an eye out for firework violations during the Fourth of July holiday. In Shasta County, there is a “zero tolerance policy” against fireworks. And fireworks are illegal outside of Gridley and Oroville in Butte County. Fines can reach $1,000 or six months in jail.
3. Latest on ‘County Fire’
Firefighters are battling the “County Fire” in Yolo County. It exploded to nearly 33,000 acres this weekend, in the Rumsey Canyon area.
As of Monday morning, it is just 2 percent contained.
4. ‘Pawnee Fire’ Jumps Containment Lines
The “Pawnee Fire” jumped containment lines in Lake County this weekend. The fire is now 15,000 acres and 73 percent contained.
