‘Stoney Fire’ Latest
The “Stoney Fire” in Chico is 85 percent contained at 960 acres. Much of Upper Bidwell Park remains closed Tuesday morning including Bear Hole and several roads.


Dangerous DUI Hit-and-Run in Redding
Redding police have arrested 39-year-old Anthony Barone for what they call a dangerous DUI hit-and-run Monday night. They say Barone destroyed a mailbox, trashcan and fence on Nicolet Lane. He was later found by a K-9 hiding in a backyard and arrested.


Woman Recovers from Salmon Shark Bite
A Redding woman is recovering from a bite from a Salmon Shark at Trinidad State Beach Sunday. The Humboldt County sheriff’s Office says the 59-year-old woman was bitten on her lower leg while wading in the water. The injury is minor, experts say the area is seeing an increase of Salmon Sharks due to migration.


Chico Police Officer Honored by Nation-wide Organization
“Mothers Against Drunk Driving” is recognizing Chico Police Officer Drew Cooper for his work on keeping the roads safe. This is the second year in a row Cooper has been given the 23-152 award.


Road Closures around Churn Creek Road in Redding
Expect some delays and road closures Tuesday morning and the rest of the week, in north-east Redding. Crews are re-paving nearly 50 roads in neighborhoods around Churn Creek Road and Whistling Drive. That will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday.
