California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Oroville that happened on Highway 70 near Cox Lane at around 6:30 p.m. last night. The CHP says two cars hit head-on at 90 miles per hour. One person is dead and several are seriously injured. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
The Red Cross shelter at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds is set to close next Thursday. Officials are working to find housing for those with nowhere else to go. If you are interested in housing a family in a trailer on your property, contact the Red Cross.
Edison Sues for Deadly Mudslides in Montecito
The utility company facing a slew of lawsuits for a deadly Southern California wildfire has filed a lawsuit of its own. Southern California Edison sued Santa Barbara County and Caltrans for the deadly January 2018 mudslides in Montecito. Now, Edison wants the county and Caltrans to share the costs if the utility is found responsible for the mudslides.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrations
It's Martin Luther King Jr. day! Monday's events in Redding were held at 8 a.m. at the Old City Hall on the corner of Market and Shasta streets. This year's celebrations will begin with a bell ringing ceremony, followed by speeches and then a prayer circle at the Courthouse, ending with a community march to the MLK center.
