Evacuation Warning in Effect for Pulga

An evacuation warning is in effect for the Pulga area in the Feather River Canyon. The Butte County Sheriff's Office has that effect in place until Thursday morning. Officials urge the community to seek higher ground due to potential flooding. 

Crews Worked to Rescue Hikers Overnight in Feather Falls

Crews worked overnight to rescue hikers in Feather Falls. Cal Fire and Butte County Search and Rescue were able to use a rope to save one hiker from a ledge 200 feet below the fall overlook's wooden platform. Another hiker was rescued early this morning. They were reported missing at around midnight. 

Tehama County Hands Out Free Sand Bags

Tehama County is handing out free sandbags in response to all the flood warnings. Red Bluff residents can pick up sandbags at 945 Kimball Road next to the Red Bluff Community Center. In Gerber, residents can pick them up at 9380 San Benito Avenue. In Los Molinos residents can pick them up at 8715 Fox Street. A flood warning for the area is in effect from now until Thursday morning.

Police K9 Shot, Suspect Killed in Placer County Shooting

Placer County authorities say a suspect was killed by police after he shot two people, killing one of them. It started in Loomis and Newcastle last night. Authorities chased the suspect to interstate 80, near Roseville. There, the suspect was killed and a police K9 shot during a shoot out. Neither the suspect's identity nor that of the victims has been released.

Redding Man Found Guilty for Assault

William Bailey was found guilty of felony assault. Prosecutors say he attacked a homeowner with a knife in November, after trying to steal bamboo off the man's property in redding.

New Hotel in the Works for Chico

A new hotel is on the way to Del Monte Avenue. The Chico City Council approved the building last night. It is requiring two barrier walls on either side of the hotel along a preschool and homes as well as tints on windows to avoid light pollutions.

Estom Yumeka Tribe Gives Away Free Salmon Wednesday

Wednesday, the Estom Yumeka Tribe is giving away free salmon from the Feather River Hatchery. You can pick up a frozen fish filet at the Enterprise Rancheria at 2133 Monte Vista Avenue in Oroville this morning at 9 a.m.

Lawmakers Set to Tour Areas Impacted by Camp Fire

More than a dozen state lawmakers are set to tour areas impacted by the Camp Fire. The group will meet with local officials to better understand how to help recovery efforts.
