Chico Police to Honor Fallen Officers in 2018
Chico police are holding a ceremony to honor all officers killed in the line of duty across the country in 2018. The event will be in front of the Bidwell Mansion on Esplanade at 6:30 p.m.
New Law Allows Overturn of Marijuana-Related Convictions
A new law this year will allow people in California to overturn old marijuana-related convictions. Assembly Bill 1793 also gives courts a deadline of July 2020 to dismiss those convictions.

Assembly Bill 1046 requires those with DUI convictions to install breathalyzers in their cars. The device prevents the car from starting if the driver is drunk.
PG&E on Probation in Connection to California Wildfires
PG&E is on probation as part of a criminal investigation into the deadly 2010 gas pipeline explosion in San Bruno. If PG&E is found liable for the Camp Fire it could be charged with manslaughter and face massive fines. Cal Fire is still investigating the official cause of the fire.
Butte County Emergency Animal Shelter to Close Friday
The Butte County Emergency Animal Shelter is trying to reconnect pets with their owners before the shelter closesFriday. Fifteen of the 600 animals in the Oroville shelter are feral cats. The shelter says those cats are being sterlized before being set free.
Butte County District Attorney Drops Kidnapping Charges
The Butte County District Attorney has dropped attempted kidnapping charges against Jonathan Ray Burg. He was accused of trying to kidnap a 13-year-old girl from her driveway in Oroville last Wednesday. The District Attorney said the girl could not identify Burg in a photo lineup.
Partial Government Shutdown: Day 11
Today is the 11th day of the partial government shutdown. Democrats take control of the house on Thursday. They are expected to introduce legislation to reopen the federal government, but not include any money for a border wall. Thousands of federal employees are now suing for lost pay.
