Heavy Snow Causes Road Closures, Power Outages, Chain Controls in Shasta County

Heavy snow in Shasta County has caused school closures, power outages and chain controls. Tens of thousands of people are without power in Redding, Anderson and Big Bend Wednesday morning. School Closures in Effect Tuesday Morning

All Redding area elementary schools, Shasta Union and Cottonwood Union elementary schools are closed. All schools in the Enterprise District are also closed. For a detailed list, CLICK HERE

Police Search for Assault Suspects in Humboldt County

A manhunt is underway for two assault suspects in Humboldt County. Deputies arrested Dylan Roberts in McKinleyville after they say he and two other men broke the window of a home and hit a good samaritan over the head with a gun. 

Chico Police Arrest Man for Attempted Assault on Ex-Wife

Chico police arrested Wayne Packer after they say he intentionally rammed into his ex-wife's car. While she was driving on Filbert Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. She was not injured. Police say Packer is now behind bars for assault with a deadly weapon and violating a restraining order.

Gov. Newsom Issues State of the State Address

In his state of the state address, Governor Gavin Newsom said he will have a plan within 60 days to deal with PG&E's bankruptcy filing. The state has hired a strike team of financial specialists and bankruptcy attorneys to come up with a plan to keep the lights on and protect ratepayers.
