Butte County Leaders Holding Meeting to Discuss Housing Options

Butte County leaders are holding a meeting Tuesday in Oroville to look for housing options for fire. They are also working to get an update on funding and programs to help with finding jobs for those who lost theirs because of the Camp Fire. The meeting is Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the chambers in Oroville.

FEMA Deadline for Disaster Assistance Registration Friday

Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office Investigating Homicide

The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office is investigating the homicide of Hunter Sims of Texas. His body was found by a utility worker just northeast of Weed last week. His car was close by, near North Old State Road and Eddy Creek Road.

Anderson Homicide Suspect Back in Court Monday

An Anderson man accused of killing his roommate will be back in court Monday. Police say Michael Oconnell shot and killed Adam Mancebo at their home on Happy Valley Road last Wednesday. A judge set his bail at more than $1 million. His arraignment continues Monday. 

Gov. Newson to Withdraw Troops from Border

Governor Gavin Newsom is set to withdraw several hundred troops from the U.S.-Mexico border. He plans to change their missions pending approval from the U.S. Department of Defense. Some would be redeployed to wildfire preparation and some would work on the state's counterdrug task force program.

Rare Snow Sightings in Humboldt County

Some rare snow was spotted in Humboldt County. The National Weather Service says the last time Humboldt County saw snow was back in the winter of 2003.
