Camp Fire Community Meeting on Dec. 4

A Camp Fire community meeting is set for tonight in Oroville. It will be at the Southside Community Center on Lower Wyandotte Road from 6:30-8:30 p.m. It will be streamed live on the Cal OES Facebook page

Camp Fire Evacuation Zone in Concow Reduced to Warning

The evacuation order for Zone B in Concow has been reduced to a warning. Starting at 9 a.m. today all roads and areas inside Zone B will be open to residents for 24 hours. This area can be accessed by Highway 70 and Concow Road. 

First Phase of Toxic Debris Cleanup Underway

the first phase of toxic debris clean up is underway for the Camp Fire. The EPA says it will continue well into this coming summer. Phase two will overlap with fire-damaged debris removal to begin in January. 

Cal Trans Reopens Highway 70

Cal Trans has reopened Highway 70 with some traffic control near the Camp Fire. That's at the West Branch Feather River Bridge in Butte County. 

B-Line Bus Route Goes Through Paradise and Magalia

Though the Skyway is still closed, the B-Line bus route is starting up to Paradise and lower Magalia. Click the link for a schedule of bus times. 

Jon & Bon's Employee Robs Store at Gunpoint

Chico police say an employee at Jon & Bon's Yogurt Shop held his coworkers at gunpoint in a robbery Sunday night. Police say Jeromy Waybright put on a ski mask to steal cash from the register and cash box. Police later arrested him with a stolen handgun and evidence linking him to the robbery.

Redding Fire Department Schedules Controlled Burn

The Redding Fire Department has scheduled a controlled burn to take place this morning. Crews will be burning along Old Diggins Road and Quartz Hill Road in the Buckeye subdivision of Redding.

July began on a seasonably hot note for northern California with plenty of sunshine, and fortunately very little wind. We'll have a minor cooling trend through Friday before more heat arrives for the holiday weekend.
