Carr Fire Latest Friday
The Carr Fire as of Friday morning is 131,896 acres and 39 percent contained, 1,067 homes have been destroyed. A sixth victim of the Carr Fire has been identified as 62-year-old Daniel Bush of Keswick.


Carr Fire Within Containment Lines
Cal Fire says Lewiston residents do not need to worry about large plumes of smoke seen near the west side of the Carr Fire. They say the fire is still within containment lines. The smoke is being created by unburned fuels within the fire lines.


Procession for Fallen Redding Firefighter
A small procession of firefighters accompanied the body of Fire Prevention Inspector Jeremy Stoke from the Shasta County Coroner’s Office in Redding to the McDonald’s Funeral Chapel Thursday. Stoke lost his life last Friday while saving others. His memorial service will be held August 11 at noon in the Redding Civic Auditorium.


Oro Dam Classic Car Club
The Oro Dam Classic Car Club is collecting donations for Carr Fire victims. The cruisers will be at the Food-Max in Oroville Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.


Shasta High School Becomes Local Assistance Center
A local assistance center opened up in the City of Redding for Carr Fire victims. It opens at Shasta High School at 9 a.m. Friday.


Blood Source Summer Classic
The Blood Source Summer Classic Blood Drive is Friday and Saturday at the Blood source locations on your screen. It runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Chico and Redding and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Yuba City. On Saturday it will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Chico and Redding and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Yuba City.
