The fire is 125,842 acres with 35 percent containment and has destroyed 1,060 homes as of Thursday morning. All people reported missing in the fire have now been found.
Some Redding Homes Still Without Power due to Carr Fire
Redding Electric Utility is working to restore power to 70 homes in Redding by the end of Thursday. Thousands are still without power in Shasta County. PG&E says the gas system has been repaired for homes in Shasta County still standing. They say those returning home should look for notes from utility workers on their front door.
Car Stolen from Evacuee Returned
Redding, California Highway Patrol says a stolen truck from an evacuee during the Carr Fire is now back home with the owner. Officers arrested 40-year-old Robert Shaw in the area of Oak Street near Hawthorn Avenue in Happy Valley. It happened Wednesday night. Officers found out the truck was stolen from an evacuated area. Shaw is now behind bars on charges of grand theft.
