A gradual warming trend kicks off today. The Delta Breeze will weaken throughout the first half of the week. As we start the workweek we can expect the temperatures to increase into the upper 80s for most of the valley. We will see temperatures in the low 90s by the middle of the week. During this period, the air quality for those in the southern end of the Sacramento Valley saw an improvement as a result of the Delta Breeze. As the breeze begins to weaken, we can expect the air quality to gradually deteriorate as temperatures warm.

The biggest change this week will come Thursday as temperatures jump into the upper 90s once a high pressure builds in. This will allow the air quality to worsen for most in the valley and set the stage for temperatures to reach the century mark by Friday. The north valley will see the warmest temperatures, topping out in the mid-100s, while the mid-valley can expect the low 100s next weekend.

Areas of fog are possible to start your Tuesday, but we'll end up sunny, warmer, and have gusty north winds Tuesday afternoon. Winds will diminish through the day on Wednesday, and we'll stay very warm. Dry and warm conditions will persist through this weekend, but wet and cooler weather is projected to return next week.
