CHICO, Calif. - The search is on for the man Chico police say led officers on an overnight chase in the Chico.

This all started on Sun., Feb. 23, just before midnight when Chico police went to assist the California Highway Patrol (CHP) with a traffic stop on the offramp on Highway 99 and East Avenue.

The driver was detained by the CHP prior to Chico police officers arriving.

Police say the driver later identified as Alex Cole Bundlie, 27, of Paradise, gave officers a false name.

Soon after that, police say Bundlie locked the doors and jumped into the drivers' seat and sped off.

Officers chased Bundlie on southbound Highway 99 to the East First Avenue exit, police say Bundlie then went east of that road and was driving at an extreme speed and passed red lights.

Officers then called the chase over, shortly after Bundlie went on East First Avenue.

Bundlie is also wanted by the Butte County Sheriff's Office and the Paradise Police Department.

Anyone with information in regards to Bundlie's location, call Chico police at 530-897-4911.
