ANDERSON, Calif. - The Anderson Police Department arrested a felon from Oregon after he allegedly ran away from authorities and K-9 “Aero.”
According to APD, officers were patrolling Sunday afternoon on foot near the Anderson Meadows Apartment complex, at 2500 Highway 273, when they recognized Joshua Michael Parker, 28, of Kingsbury, walking around the area.
Parker was identified as a person with a felony warrant out of Oregon for a parole violation as well as a parole for a charge of robbery and assault with a weapon.
When officers tried to take Parker into custody, he fled on foot and jumped a fence twice, but on his second jump he encountered K-9 “Aero.”
Parker continued to try to escape, but officers and “Aero” took him into custody.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and was booked into the Shasta County Jail.
Parker will be charged with resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
