CHICO, Calif. - A historic home in Chico was celebrated on Friday, Aug. 2 with an old fashioned ice cream social.
Volunteers gathered at the Stansbury Home at Fifth and Salem Street, serving up ice-cream sundaes from Shuberts.
The event celebrated the history of the Stansbury Home built in 1883 and owned by Dr. Oscar Stansbury.
The City of Chico has owned the home since 1976, it's operated by the Stansbury Home preservation association and still has some of the original furnishings and tools used by the physician.
The house is also the site for the annual Victorian Christmas in December.
The Stansbury Home is open on Saturdays and Sundays for tours.
