PARADISE, Calif. - Volunteers with the group Samaritan's Purse spent the afternoon sifting through the rubble of a Paradise woman's home.

They were searching for jewelry connected to a woman's late husband who lost everything in the fire. She was hoping to find the love story she shared with her husband, in the form of jewelry.

"My wedding ring, my husband's ring and my engagement ring," said Peggy Noonan, a Paradise resident. "Rising from the ashes, it's like the only thing that really survived was the precious metals."

Her husband died years ago and she's looking to find memories that she shared with him.

They didn't find Noonan's engagement or wedding rings, but they found many small things that now have a new importance.

The group presented Noonan with a Billy Graham Bible for people who've survived national disasters, complete with individual messages of love and hope.
