A Veteran's Day Ceremony is planned for the Chico Elk's Lodge on Saturday, November 11th starting at 10:30 a.m.
Various Veterans groups will be on hand, with a number of displays.
A Vietnam War Veteran will be speaking this year. It's open to the public, and afterward there will be a free lunch served of hot dogs and beans.
Meanwhile, local Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1555 is inviting veterans to see whether they qualify as members. It's a group of veterans helping veterans. You must have an Expeditionary medal, have served in foreign theater, received Hostile Fire pay or have been stationed in Korea for 30 consecutive days or 60 days non-consecutively or served on a nuclear submarine.
The VFW Auxilary is also welcoming new members. You qualify if you are the spouse, widow or widower, parent, grandparent, sibling, child or grand child of a person who is eligible for membership in Veterans of Foreign Wars.
