UPDATED 1:45 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020 - Jedidiah Guerra, a 33-year-old man from Oroville, was arrested for driving into the Oroville Police Station with charges ranging from felony vandalism to driving under the influence, and two counts of battery on a police officer.
Oroville Police said based on their investigation, "it appears Guerra drove into the Oroville Police Department intentionally." The said the motive is still under investigation, however.
No one was in the lobby or the public restroom at the time of the incident. The lobby and restroom are closed for repairs. The amount of damage, or cost to repair it, is still unknown.
OROVILLE, Calif. - A car crashed into the Oroville Police Department Friday afternoon.
Police told Action News Now that a pick-up intentionally crashed into the police building, knocking out power and breaking water lines and flooding the building. Police Chief Joe Deal said the driver got out of his truck and attacked several officers as they approached him.
The driver is now in custody and is being taken to the hospital.
