Oroville home saved after man warned of vegetation fire

The Feather Fire burned two and a half acres in Oroville Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE 4:07 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 - The vegetation fire in Oroville is 100 percent contained at 2 1/2 acres. It is called the Feather Fire. It was burning on Ophir Road just east of Lincoln Boulevard.

UPDATE 3:47 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 - Reporter Laura Eng was at the scene of the vegetation fire. She said the vegetation fire jumped over a home that was saved due to a quick warning to the homeowner, who was able to grab a hose and protect his property.
