Vegetation fire in Palermo spreads to multiple nearby structures

Cal Fire Butte County is responding to a vegetation fire in Palermo that has spread to at least two structures.

UPDATE: 11:28 a.m., Sunday, May 24, 2020 - Cal Fire reports that the forward progress in the vegetation fire has been stopped at the Oakwood Ln, Palermo fire. All three structures on fire have been knocked down, firefighters will be at the scene for next 2-3 hours.

PALERMO, Calif. - Cal Fire Butte County is responding to a vegetation fire in Palermo that has spread to at least two structures. 

The fire started at around 11 a.m. Sunday morning and Cal Fire is calling this the Oakwood fire because of its location on Oakwood Lane in Palermo

Cal Fire says the head of the vegetation fire has been slowed, and they are working to contain flanks and structures still burning

They are currently requesting additional resources. 

The fire has yet to be contained and we will update this story as more information becomes available.
