Vegetation fire contained near Oroville Wildlife Refuge

The CAL FIRE Butte Unit has responded to a vegetation fire near the Oroville Wildlife Refuge.

Update 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 10, 2021 - The 70 Fire was contained at 1/10th of an acre. The fire burned in heavy fuels including blackberry bushes. Crews will remain on the scene until at least 6:30 p.m. to mop up.

The Oroville Fire Department assisted the CAL FIRE Butte Unit for a quick response to this vegetation fire.

Update 5:02 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 10, 2021 - Forward progress has stopped on the #70Fire near the Oroville Wildlife Refuge off of Highway 70.

It only took about 40 minutes for crews to respond and stop the progress.

Firefighters remain on the scene.

OROVILLE, Calif. - A vegetation fire is burning near the Oroville Wildlife Refuge west of Highway 70 and east of the Feather River, according to the CAL FIRE Butte Unit.

On Saturday at 4:22 p.m. this vegetation fire was reported to CAL FIRE and crews responded.
