Vegetation Fire Quickly Knocked Down by Butte Co. Firefighters

A grass fire in the south part of Butte County prompted a quick attack from several firefighting agencies.

OROVILLE, Calif. - A grass fire in the south part of Butte County prompted a quick attack from several firefighting agencies.

The Oroville Fire Department said a vegetation fire broke out on Baggett Marysville Road on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were worried at first about flames spreading to the nearby Sierra Pacific Lumber Mill.

The agency was able to get help from El Medio and Butte County Cal Fire, the fire was contained at just more than six acres.
