Junes Fire 100 Percent Contained

Cal Fire is on the scene of fast-moving vegetation fire in Palermo.

UPDATE 8:43 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 - The Junes Fire is 100 percent contained. It burned 550 acres in Butte County.

UPDATE 9:17 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 - The Junes Fire is 550 acres and is 70 percent contained.

UPDATE 4:16 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2018 - The Junes Fire has grown to 550 acres. Forward progress has stopped. 

There have been no injuries reported or structures burned.

UPDATE 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 - The Junes Fire has grown to 80 acres in size. 

Additional resources have been ordered, according to Cal Fire.

PALERMO, Calif. - Cal Fire is on the scene of fast-moving vegetation fire in Palermo.

Cal Fire responded to the fire around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at 2 4 June's Way.

It is around 10-15 acres in size and moving at a "critical rate of speed" according to the Butte County Unit. 

Structures are currently threatened.

Gusty winds will keep fire danger elevated early Tuesday, but winds will diminish this afternoon. We'll also get a little warmer for your final day of the summer season today. Dry conditions and around to above average temperatures are expected through Friday. Temperatures will then cool down this weekend.
