CHICO, Calif. - Around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Officers responded to a report of graffiti on the 1000 block of Poppy Street as well as the corner of West 9th and Cherry Street.
When officers arrived, they found swastikas spray-painted at each location.
While checking for suspects, officers also found an additional nine locations throughout the area that had been vandalized with the racist graffiti.
Among the nine locations, some also had racial slurs along with the swastikas.
"It's obviously awful, no one likes to go to their business or go around their town and see that kind of stuff," said Taylor Allread, who works close to Rico's Tamales.
Allread goes on to say, "I don't think theres a place in Chico or anywhere for that sort of mentality."
Locations ranged from private residential property, commercial property and public transit-related property all in southwest Chico.
Staff were called out and responded in an effort to remove the graffiti immediately.
Chico police are trying to find security camera footage that may hold footage of the person or persons who are responsible.
