Vacant home catches fire in South Oroville

A vacant home on Virginia Avenue in Oroville caught fire around 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters with the Oroville Fire Department and El Medio fire are responding to 4755 Virginia Avenue in South Oroville for a report of a structure fire. According to Oroville Fire Department, the vacant home caught fire around 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Butte County CAL FIRE are also assisting in putting out the residential structure fire. Fire crews say while the home is empty, it's in a neighborhood surrounded by other homes. No word yet on if other structures are threatened.
