CHICO, Calif. - Crime near the Chico Airport continues to be an issue and one Chico man wants to shed light on the problem.

Jake Davis has been trying to fix up his RV, but his progress keeps stalling due to the number of break-ins he has experienced.

Each time his RV is broken into, more and more valuables get stolen.

Davis thought criminals had nothing else to take, but he was wrong.

After seeing his RV was broken into yet again a few days ago, the one value that he could never replace was taken -- his father's ashes.

“It was a mix of anger and sadness I think which would be the natural response,” Davis said. “I was upset. I felt violated that someone had robbed me again but the fact that they took something to them has no value but has so much value to me and my family. It’s really hurtful.”

He has tried to secure his RV as best as he can after each break-in but has not had any luck.

Davis and his family were planning a trip to spread his father's ashes in one of his favorite spots at the King's River.

If you have seen the ashes of John Edward Davis and the black urn, please contact the Chico Police Department.

Get out and enjoy this beautiful weather tonight! If you do head out and plan to stay out late, probably bring an extra later to throw on for when the sun sets as temperatures will be cooling off into the low to mid 60s for the valley by midnight and low to mid 40s by tomorrow morning.
