CHICO, Calif. - The Chico State University Farm is sharing some exciting news. It grew four acres of pumpkins this year and will now offer the festive seasonal gourds for self-serve public sales.
It will take place at the University Farm greenhouse complex on Thursday and Fridays over the next two weeks. Pumpkins are sorted by size and will be available in $5 and $10 sizes. The farm said only exact change and checks will be accepted through a drop box.
The self-serve pumpkin sales will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, October 15 through 23, 2020.
The University Farm is located at 311 Nicholas C. Schouten Lane, south of Chico.
Visitors should follow the signs to the greenhouse and look for the pumpkin wagon. Guests are asked to maintain physical distancing and wear face coverings while pumpkin shopping.
The farm said its meat laboratory is also open for public sales from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. The University Farm also sells greenhouse plants and organic vegetables at the Greenhouse from 1 to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
