Two climbers rescued from Mount Shasta

Siskiyou County Search and Rescue crews rescued two mountain climbers from Mount Shasta.

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. - Siskiyou County Search and Rescue crews rescued two mountain climbers from Mount Shasta. 

One climber, 21-year-old Collins Bakasa of Hayward, had a broken leg after he slipped, fell, and was injured near Avalanche Gulch around 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15.

The second was a climber, 31-year-old Abilene Bushong that slipped and fell into an ice cave at Casaval Ridge around 2 p.m.

Crews responded and successfully airlifted both climbers to Mercy-Medical Center in Mount Shasta. Both climbers are doing ok.
