CHICO, Calif. – Just after 9 p.m. Friday night a probation search was conducted on Rancheria Drive by Chico Police Department’s Street Crimes team. The search led to two arrests with one charge being child endangerment.
The resident, Samantha Gonzales, was on Butte County probation for drug sales with the search determining she was not in compliance with her terms.

During the search, officers discovered approximately three ounces of Methamphetamine and two ounces of Heroin, along with evidence of active drug sales and handgun ammunition.
Officers found the items in the sleeping area of Gonzales' 14-year-old daughter, who was in the residence at the time.
Gonzales and her boyfriend, Earl McCann, were arrested on charges of possession of heroin and methamphetamine for sale and a felony charge of child endangerment.
Gonzales was additionally charged with a felony of violation of probation and McCann was additionally charged with possession of ammunition by a felon.
