OROVILLE, Calif. – An investigation into a shooting in Oroville that injured a 13-year-old has resulted in two arrests.
Authorities moved on a search warrant and arrested two Oroville men involved in the shooting that happened on the 600 block of Tehema Ave. in Oroville on Feb. 23, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said a bullet entered a residence where multiple individuals, including a 13-year-old victim, lived. Deputies determined debris from the bullet that entered the residence struck the 13-year-old victim.
18-year-old Allen Riley, was arrested on Feb. 26 for a felony count of assault with a firearm on a person, according to BCSO. 20-year-old Trey Lee, was arrested on Feb. 26 for a felony count of carrying a loaded firearm not registered to him in public.
Detectives said Lee and a group showed up in front of Riley’s home on the evening of Feb. 23. Both Lee and Riley shot at each other, and Lee’s bullet entered the residence of the 13-year-old victim.
Another person involved in the incident was searched on a warrant, but no arrest was made. This investigation is still ongoing.
