Two Memorial Day Services Planned for Chico

Morning and afternoon ceremonies scheduled.

CHICO, Calif.--Memorial Day Events are planned at both Chico Cemetery and Glen Oaks Memorial Park.

The morning program begins at 10 a.m. at Chico Cemetery, 881 Mangrove Avenue.

The Chico Community Band will begin playing patriotic music at 9:30 a.m.   

There will be presentations of military honors, speeches and tributes and a spectacular visual display of hundreds of American flags. 

Also on display at the Chico Cemetery will be a 1921 Ford Model T Hearse and a horse drawn funeral coach from the late 1800's. 

An abbreviated afternoon program begins at 2 p.m. at Glen Oaks memorial Park, at 1115 the Midway.

The public is invited to attend both of the events to help honor members of the military who died, proudly served their country.
