REDDING, Calif. - Redding Police Department responded to a traffic collision in a construction zone at the 4100 block of Bechelli Lane, according to Redding Police Department.

Two vehicles, a 2002 Ford F150 and a 2012 Ford F450, were involved in the collision just before 6 a.m.

An initial investigation revealed the Ford F150 collided into the rear end of the slow-moving F450, which was a construction vehicle. It is unknown the speed the F150 was traveling at before the collision.

Police said drugs appeared to be a factor for the driver of the F150.

The driver in the F150 was no wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

The collision is under investigation and a complaint will be filed with the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office.

Light scattered showers are on tap for the start of your Thursday, and I'm tracking heavier rain ahead from Thursday afternoon through mid day Friday. We'll have a lull in our wet pattern late Friday through early Saturday, but even heavier rain and snow will return this weekend and persist into next week. Major travel impacts will be possible across northern California from this wet weather.
