ORLAND, Calif. - Angel Bravo from Orland High School is one of 69 football players to be selected to play in the Hawaii Tiki Bowl.

“It’s going to be a really big year for me,” said Bravo. “I’m going to prove how hard I worked over the summer for my senior year and Angel Bravo is going to be a name to remember at Orland High.”

The incoming senior stands at 6’7 and 227 lbs. He made headlines as a junior.

“I think I’m the best lineman in our section and probably the top lineman in the entire Northern Section,” said Bravo.

Bravo had 61 tackles and six sacks in eight games. His hard work scored him an invite to the Hawaii Tiki Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.

“It feels really good. It makes me have more confidence in myself thinking that I’m that good, so it pushes me more to accomplish my goal [of playing in the NFL],”said Bravo.

The Hawaii Tiki Bowl is a chance to meet college coaches and play against the best in the United States.

The Bowl is slated for December. Angel says he works out alone due to COVID-19 and is hoping to return to the field with his team.

“It’s really important. We have to work out every day and push ourselves to the limits, even when we’re tired,” said Bravo. “Because this year we can go to the playoffs and keep beating teams. We can dominate this year.”

Last season Orland High was barely bumped out of the playoffs by Paradise.

Bravo’s family set up a GoFundMe for Angel’s trip. To help visit this website.
