TRINITY COUNTY, Calif. – A Redding man was arrested in Douglas City early Friday morning after authorities say he stole a van from the Good News Rescue Mission.
Around 5:50 a.m. Friday, a woman called the Trinity County Sheriff's Office, reporting that a man was following her in a van as she was walking home in Douglas City.
Deputies responded to the area and stopped the driver as the van left the Douglas City area and drove eastbound on Highway 299.
The driver of the van was identified as David Vanbuskirk. The van was found to be owned by the Good News Rescue Mission and had been stolen earlier in the night, according to the sheriff's office.
Vanbuskirk was arrested and transported to the Trinity County Jail. Deputies say he is facing charges of auto theft, possession of stolen property, driving with a suspended license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
