Tree causes damage to Chico apartments during storm

Lightning hit a tree during the early Saturday morning storm and left one apartment complex damaged.

CHICO, Calif. - Lightning hit a tree during the early Saturday morning storm and left one apartment complex damaged.

The Palo Verde Apartments on East Lassen were damaged when a tree was hit by lightning and split in four directions.

A tenant told Action News Now the tree broke a water main in the courtyard and damaged the roof on two of the buildings, as well as shattering his son's window.

The same tenant said he knew of no injuries.
