CONCOW, Calif. – The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down between Concow and Oroville.
The EF-1 tornado caused damage at a Concow school at Spring Valley 2771 Pentz Road. Principal Josh Peete sent Action News Now several images. He said the school was in session, and the power went out right before the funnel cloud moved through around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.

On Friday, the National Weather Service said they are still investigating and may upgrade the storm to an EF-2 status.
Peete said teachers did an amazing job keeping the students safe. The tornado knocked down temporary fencing around the new playground that was being finished Wednesday. However, it did not cause any damage to the new structure, Peete said.
