CHICO, Calif. - Tin Roof Cafe in Chico is starting full bread production again. This comes after having to put a halt on bread production for weeks.
The owner, Lloyd Stevenson, said the week before Christmas half of the bread crew got sick. In late December, they stopped bread production. They had a little for retail but that was all.
Stevenson said they are all happy to be back at full production.
"Well it means we can serve our customers, if they are not disappointed," said Stevenson. "We can maintain contact with our public. We can keep our employees employed. I mean they wanted to work, but sometimes you can't or it is just not good for you."
Selling to grocery stores has been helpful for Tin Roof. However, Stevenson says that the pandemic has hurt them becuase the restaurants they sell to are closed or are serving a smaller capacity due to the stay-at-home orders.
The Tin Roof Cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They are also open on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
