Third victim in Shingletown shooting has died, suspect’s father still missing

The third victim of the June 27 shooting on Gail Lane in Shingletown has died due to her injuries, the Shasta County Major Crimes Unit announced Thursday.

SHINGLETOWN, Calif. - The third victim of the June 27 shooting on Gail Lane in Shingletown has died due to her injuries, the Shasta County Major Crimes Unit announced Thursday.

The coroner's office identified the third victim as 59-year-old Stephanie Currie.

This comes after the shooting on June 27 in Shingletown that has now resulted in the death of all 3 victims.

Officers say it happened on Saturday, June 27 around 11 a.m. when police received reports of shots fired at a rural residential home on Gail Lane in Shingletown near Highway 44. Deputies say they responded to the scene and located multiple victims on the ground.

The shooting suspect, Duan Eric Sanders, died July 1 in a southern California traffic collision where he was found dead on the scene by investigators.

During this investigation, detectives say they learned Daun’s father, 80-year-old William “Bill” Sanders, from Shingletown has not contacted his family since Thursday, June 25. Shasta County detectives say they have been actively searching for William since Saturday, June 27. He is also considered at risk.
