OROVILLE, Calif. – Thermalito Union Elementary School District announced Tuesday that a student at Nelson Avenue Middle School has tested positive for coronavirus.
The school staff said it has identified and called the families of students that were within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes. Those students will be placed in a precautionary quarantine for the remainder of the 14-day window. The District said it is reminding parents to be vigilant regarding COVID-19 symptoms.
The school district said in a news release, Principal Rochelle Simmons is working with their District Nurse and the Butte County Department of Public Health. Nelson Avenue Middle School administration has notified all impacted staff and families.
